Heads of The Valleys City Strategies Programme

CEW is on the Voluntary Sector Sub-group for SP4 – Directly linking people with work. This sub-group has just completed its action plan with CEW identified as the lead organisation for social enterprise. Other members on the sub-group are Caerphilly Citizens Advice Bureau, Keep Wales Tidy, GAVO, Chwarae Teg, Torfaen Voluntary Alliance, Communities First, Wales Cooperative Centre, JobMatch, Groundworks Caerphilly and BTCV.

CEW represents the Voluntary Sector Sub-group on the City Strategies Employment Consortium, embedding 3rd sector organisation into the delivery of the programme. By utilising the skills, experience and local credibility of the organisations involved, we can engage with and bring benefits to people living in the most deprived areas of Wales.

As part of this programme, CEW is promoting the role of social enterprise as a progression route for long term and generational unemployed back into economic activity.
